If you want to find out more about your piece, you're going to have to read the hallmark.

Its actually not an unusual shape, virtually all cameo brooches are that shape.

Thank you.   Funny i always thought it was ivory, all these years.  Also by shape i mean that it is very thick at the head end, certainly not same all over. So how do i go about identifing Hall Mark?

Nope, cameos were never carved from ivory.

Well, do you have a loupe? Magnifying glass? Microscope? Can you make out ANY part of it?

Antique Cameo Brooch, Edwardian, 900 Silver, Gold Wash, Cannetille, Genuine Shell, ca 1910-20

I think the mark is 900 silver,,, today its marked .925. some are .800 sliver.

I have found here in the SW (USA) Cameos are hard to sell. your's could go from $27.00 to $75.00  more if you can find a Cameo collector..

"NOTE" I am only going off what I can see from your photos.. zoom in on the mark. it looks like 900 to me... or have it tested. Good Luck.

Thank you so much Phoenixguy!!!

It really has been a learning curve for me :)
