Description
I researched a little on the violin and found out that it was build by one of the master violin makers Josef Klotz in south Germany ca. 1795. Inside are two old label one bigger rectangular
ca. 3 X 1.5 inches with: Josef Klotz in Mittenwalde Anno 1797 and a real small one with: Made in Germany in older German letters imprinted. The Violin needs a miner job done at the lower end of the body. Overall sounds great and is in great shape.

Re: Violin 1795 Josef Klotz in Mittenwalde
Some go up to $35,000 depending on which maker produced it. I believe there were 25 artisans who created the Klotz line. Some have been estimated at a few thousand, to thirty five or more. There are several high end instrument stores across the US who have appraisal services, some free, most not....but worth it. We have a 1795 Klotz 3/4 violin that was appraised in 1985 for $10 to $12,000 plus $800 for each bow we had.
