The bookcase you have was made by the Globe Wernicke Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio.  It was made between 1900 and 1922.  So it is very close to 100 years old.  They quit making this "Standard" style in 1922.  Each bookcase came with a factory label that denotes the style, wood, color, size and finish.  The label you have shows to be a Grade 598 1/2.  That means it is made of solid mahogony, has a medium dark dead finish, with dull brush-finished brass hardware.  It is a D size case (12 in.) in depth, and 8 1/2 in. tall on the inside of the case.  That means you should be able to put a book up to 8 1/2 in. tall in the bookcase.  Here is a link to a site with more information about the Globe Wernicke bookcases.  https://deepdoodoo.wordpress.com

These were hugely popular during the 1980's, they still sell for about $150.00-$200.00 a stacking section these days
