Miniature dolls

By krsessions, 7 April, 2010
Description

I would guess these dolls are at the very least 50 years old. Two of them are hinged at both the arms and legs. Very elaborate dresses with peticoats and ribbons and bows. Faces are painted. The other two are only hinged at the arms and a little taller but not by much maybe 3 inches tops. They also are dressed with dresses that have lace and ribbon. Thier faces are also painted and have porcelain bonnets. The last one is all porcelain. painted on old maybe 40's type swimsuit????? Maybe cake topper or something. The girl is posed sort of half sitting/standung with one arm bent on head and the other bent and holding upper chest area.

Re: Miniature dolls

The doll you describe as a "cake topper" is actually a pin cushion or powder box doll.  She would have been sewn into a cloth base and placed on a dresser to hold hat pins. She's pretty common and not very detailed for this sort of doll.
