Description

I came into a rare piece by the Apsit Brother's collection. It's made out of a material I can't figure out. I have added pics and am wondering if anyone can fill me in on what it's made up and what it's worth? It's 2 ft in height and weighs heavily, about 60 to 70 lbs. Thanks

Re: Apsit Brothers Indian Head made of ???

The piece is made of plaster, there are several other examples on the Internet of these Indian busts. All the ones readily findable have been painted, I suspect this one was either never painted or left outside for some time. I did not find any record of actual sales but other people generally were asking $150-$200 with no takers.

Are you willing to sell this piece?  If not, will you tell me where I can find one?
