1897 Queen Victoria 60th Reign Commemoration Metal Tankard

Description

This is a used metal tankard with the inscription "TO COMMEMORATE THE 60TH YEAR OF THE REIGN OF HER MOST GRACIOUS MAJESTY THE QUEEN 1837 1897" The back has an inscription and title of WINDSOR CASTLE. The bottom says "THIS DESIGN IS THE PROPERTY OF THE LICENSED VICTUALLERS TEA ASSOCIATION LTd LONDON. S.E." The size of the tankard is inscribed as 1/2 pint. an in the corner near the handle is a government punch of the crown VR 6 D. It is approximately 5 inches tall, 2.5 to 3" inches in diameter. Considerable rust on the inside and as you can see a band of rust along the outside.

My neighbor from England has first dibbs on it if it's within her price range, but we are considering sale.

Nice piece, but it's condition isn't the best, value depends on how well it cleans up. Should be worth at least $75.00 though.

Do you recommend cleaning? At least the rust anyway. I know the patina is part of the charm/value, or does that matter in a steel piece?
