metal 2 part bird box

By Roy H Duvall, 5 May, 2017
Description

Metal bird container in maybe brass-bronze or ? Came from my grand mother's home. My mother gave it to me in 1973 when she passed away at 97years old.  Mom told me she used it when she was a young girl. She never asked where she came by it.

Any help as to age, origin and value ,if any.

Thanks

Re: metal 2 part bird box

Possibly an Indian hand cast copper-bronze Dhokra trinket box. (Dhokra is an ancient metal craft still used by artisans in central India.)
