The artists name is william clark. He was one of the best scottish marine painter of the 19th century. Born in 1803. I know that much. Im just trying to find out if i have a forgery.
Paintings really require a physical examination by a specialist appraiser and are not good candidates for any sort of appraisal via images. I would suggest contacting a local auctioneer for a referral to one.

I recently bought a painting with the same signature. We purchased it in Richmond, VA. I have been searching for information on the artist as well.

Has anyone discovered anything about this painting? I just inherited one. Same picture but the signiture is a little different.

Lol I have an exact copy of that painting. But I think mine might be a forgery. Were you able to find anything out about it?
