This coin is known as the "Peace Dollar" and contains .77 ounces of pure silver. It was minted from 1921-1928 and again from 1934-1935. Yours, of course, was minted in 1922. The design, by Antonio de Francisci, features Lady Liberty on the face and a bald eagle on the reverse. Yours doesn't appear to have a mint mark which means it was minted in Philadelphia.
It has a face value of $1. Don't use it for that. Melt value of this coin at today's silver prices is $16.07. Don't use it for that either. The collector market values this coin in poor condition around $28 and a 'mint' version at about $500. It's difficult to judge from your photos but yours looks to be in fair condition and is probably worth $30-40.
