The Icebox, which until the 1930's could be found in virtually every home, by the late 1920's to mid 30's they were on their way to becoming obsolete, replaced by electric and gas refrigerators. This one dates from a period of peak production for Ice boxes, the first quarter of the 20th Century. Currently a comparable example would sell in the $600.00- $800.00 range.
