I have one that belonged to my Grandmother. It was the first piece of furniture that my Grandfather bought my Grandmother after they married in 1922. Theirs was made of pine and painted. Some were made of oak. It makes a big difference in the value! They were called pie safes. Some had doors with glass and some with screen. Such a treasure to have.
