Antique Sideboard with Mirror (CWS Pelaw on Tyne)

Description

Sideboard with mirror, manufactured by CWS (Co-operative Wholesale Society) Pelaw on Tyne. Mirror in excellent shape. Sideboard in very good shape with following exceptions:

- two handles off (I have the original handles for restoration)

- partial warping of one door's inlay

I apologize I don't have more information for you. Will take more pictures if needed.

Acquired in late 1980s from (I believe) The Englishman's Antiques in Addison, Texas, U.S.

These typically date between the two world wars (1918-39) and were made in relatively large numbers. Values peaked back in the late 1980's for pieces like this and container loads were imported to North America from England to fill the demand. Since then though values have been have been in seriuos decline. Currently comparable examples often sell at auction for under $250.00
