I am not sure who made or manufactured this secretary. The secretary / desk was very scratched and beat up when it was received, but it has since been sanded and restained.
I learned through this dresser that it is not always the best for valuation to "spruce up" antique furniture, but by the time I realized this, it was too late.
Two of its knobs were also missing when I received it, so I did have to get two replacement knobs for the top drawer (which is why the top knobs are slightly smaller than the bottommost ones, which are original to the piece as far as I know).
Someone that I don't know gave this to me for free. They were moving homes, and I assumed they were trying to downsize by getting rid of a lot of their furniture. It's structurally sound.

Cool piece of furniture!
I'm very interested in selling this piece of furniture but am not sure how to value it.
Drop Front Desk
I think you are right about the age (1920's - 1930's).
I don't think you hurt the price by refinishing it considering the shape you got it in. I would check it to see if it is veneered or solid wood and if it is Mahagony or another wood stained to look like Mahagony.
Good luck - I've seen these sell for anywhere between $150 & $400
