An old wind up record player in very good shape, has extra needles etc., trademark RCA, made sometime between 1909 and 1912, very nice wood cabinet with record storage, needs to be cleaned and polished.
The piece is very heavy and looks be made of Walnut (I was told it was Black Walnut) It has 3 drawers, two smaller ones on each side and a large drawer in the middle, it has metal drawer pulls.Ā The two decorative legs seem to be hand carved as there is slight differences in the designs.Ā It has been stored for years and needs a good cleaning and polishing.Ā
I wish to query the origin and or value of a duck figuring that I have in my possession.Given to me by my father who died aged 77 in 2002, this was gift to him as a child. He once told me this was an original Disney or pre Disney Duck but It has no markings on it whatsoever.I have attached some photographs. I have no idea who would give me an honest or knowledgable appraisal here in Australia RS was my best bet as I've watched it for some years. He appears to be made of copper and brass and had an awful lot of tarnish that I scrubbed off him...still no stamp, or imprint. This duck I forgot to mention came from Germany where my father was boirn. I believe this was bought in Berlin.
Embroidered miniature picture depicting the death of Horatio Nelson at Trafalgar. Very fine thread, vivid colours, framed. Found in old farmhouse in Ontario Canada that was once owned by a Victorian era retired British Navy Captain.Ā
Bronze/copper color table lamp.Ā May have had a panel between figure and lamp (see side photo).Ā Has original wireing with plug end removed.Ā I wish I knew more about it.
Brass vase. Designs all around the top, middle and bottom ofĀ engraved flowers and stems. Imprinted on the bottom is the wordĀ India and the year looks like 4 88 or 86. Was found in basement with 3 others of different sizes. Owned by my stepmother who passed away 6 years ago.
Bronze Lady with Ivory Face Holding a Mandoline, mounted on Marble, 8 inches tall by 8 inches wide at base. Looks like a Ferdinand Preiss piece.
I was given this map as a gift.Ā It was part of my wife's great uncle's WWII belongings.Ā He passed away in 1994, and this was given to my mother-in-law, along with a beltĀ buckleĀ bearing "Sixth Armored Division" and the respective logo on it.Ā From what I know, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the United States army.Ā The map was originally printed in National Geographic, but this particular map was printed with occupational zones on it for the military.Ā This particular map has the description, "This edition for use by War and Navy Department Agencies only - Not for sale or distribution."Ā I am not interested in selling this map as I am just now getting started with collecting WWII-related militaria.Ā What I am interested in is the story behind this map and a potential value it may have.Ā Thank you in advance for any help that can be provided.
31780 has a circular fce with a silver band encompassing the hour marks. the hour marks are silver and not numbered. the ohter appears to be older and is yellow gold. it has a more square face and the hour marks are numbers. the numbers resemble those i have seen on an early to late 40's bulova watch
