What I have is boxed set of what is called Twinette salt and pepper shakers. It comes in a 4.5 x 4 x 1 inch cardboard box. Would have originally had 4 ea. Sets of shakers in groups of two. Each individual shaker stands almost two inches high and about 1 inch diameter at its widest point. The shakers bodies are like an etched glass. The cap is plastic, two sets are red and green. One set has blue caps and the last one has orange caps. The lids are metal with a spring loaded hinge to keep them shut and will also lock in the open postion. One set is missing the glass shaker bodies and only the cap assembly is left. The top cover of the box says: salt, pepper Twinette “protects against moisture and dirt”. The front side says: An ideal gift, Twinette. The right side says: Cannot spill, Twinette. The back side says: An ideal gift, Twinette, Central Equipment Co. Chicago. The left side says: For an attractive table, Twinette. The bottom of the box has stamp labeled Morris Paper Mills, Morris Illinois and is numbered B 19506. The front inside flap has made in USA on it. The color of the box is a brushed gold. The writing is in black and white. All the way around the sides of the box at the bottom it is marquee… SALT . PEPPER . SALT . PEPPER.
Re: Twinette Salt and Pepper Shaker Gift Set
I have the same set! It is complete but the box is very tired! We decided it must be from the 50's or early 60's. I WOULD love to know what Lucy had in her table in the Long Long Trailer. I think that is the name of the movie with Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball. I think THAT movie was older. Late 40's I believe.
