I purchased the bench about 6 years ago in a 2nd hand store in the mid west for $100. I am now thinking about selling it and realize that some of these benches can have a high value.
The bench top measures 50" by 6" by 2" and the bench is 21"high. What impressed me about the bench was the condition of the wood. The cracks in the top are a 16th to an 8th inch deep in places, really emphasizing the wood grain and causing it to look quite old. I think it may be elm wood but am not sure. There is some detailing on the legs and the connecting supports. The bench is quite heavy. There appears to be two places, one on each end of the top where the wood was filled in with pieces of wood, either to repair it or to make it square on those two corners.
Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks,
Bev
