I am interested in trying to obtain the approximate age of this stained glass cabinet door. The glass is textured on both sides and each pane has striations and defects that can be felt like scratches. One side is a smooth ripply texture and other side feels like a micro wash board ( best way I can describe it) .
I have read many articles on "antique" glass and all I have found say that one side is smooth, not the case here. All the panes are held together with an almost flawless lead came frame and dividers.
In the photos you can see through the glass but is distorted, there are trees and a white door in the background to try and demonsrate the view through the glass.
If anyone could supply me with the contact information for someone that may be able to determine the approximate age it would be appreciated. I could send more photos of wood joints etc. Frame is 1 1/4 inch thick and I believe solid heavy oak. I did not want to disturb the finish on the frames but it almost appears as if the finish on the wood is a thinned out brown paint rather than a stain.
I obtained 14 of these from an estate residence built in the 1886 era and had an art deco addition in 1937. The glass may be pre 1940 and possibly pre 1900.
Thanks in advance for any comments that may help.
