Description

The piece pictured below was inherited from my husband’s side of the family this weekend. Unfortunately, his grandmother passed away in September, and no one asked her about this piece. We do know it came over to the US, with his family  from Germany in 1938.

The piece appears to be gilt, with plaster over a very heavy hardwood.   The embroidering has metal threads Inc.. This includes the silk cover drawers, which have a  metal thread creating a checkers weave pattern.
