Description
English Knole sofa. A large two-seat Knole settee with adjustable arms, deep seating, gold coloured fabric with skirting. The traditional Knole settee is raised up on castors with drop arms and heavy decorative braid tie backs with elaborate tassels and upholstered restraining pegs on the back and sides. The Knole sofa is an impressive piece of furniture, the high back and sides were probably designed to help keep out draughts.
