I am doubting this piece has any value, but seeking confirmation before I break it down or give it away. this is a tall single door cabinet. about 4 ft wide, about 16" overall depth and over 6 ft tall. Door does not hang from original hinges. latch does not appear to be original, either. this piece has lived in my family home basement. my professional artist grandfather stored his art supplies in it.until 1950. Paint & Solvents mainly, also some hardware. Our house dates from 1828. was moved to current location/foundation in 1915. house has been in my family since 1929. no idea of provenance on this piece. perhaps it only something a handyman banged together.
Mainly looking for confirmation that this piece has no value before I discard it.

Re: Old wooden cupboard
Very nice old cabinet, what's sometimes called a "Chimney Cupboard" . It looks to have it's original paint as well. This one appears to date 1840's and is a genuine antique from what I can see in the images. Most of these sell for over $250.00 even if they need a bit of work, here is a link for you.https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/93856091_early-1-door-chimney-cupboard
