Antique pipe

Description I received this from my mom who had it many years, and I've had it for at least 25-30 years. The little cap tip back to put tobacco in. I'm not sure on the wood it's made of. I maybe briar as many pipes were made of it . I'm just not sure if pipes this old were made of it. Any comments appreciated. Ken 1400
Category General Antiques and Collectibles
Medium I'm not sure if the pipe itself is briarwood. The mouthpiece is probably ivory the chain and lid are either nickel, pewter, or aluminum.
Distinguishing marks The pipe has a little gold, or brass flower on one side the other side it is missing.
