Re: Hallmark American Eagle Clock

I wonder if someone did not just add the Syroco or Burwood eagle? (Is the eagle faux wood?)
Henri Lagin did novelty wall pocketwatches in Germany in the 40's that can have an auction estimate $150-$200. And, I have a ton of cool Syroco/Burwood so I know they are collectible, too...maybe $30 just for your eagle. Fun, decorative item.

Re: Hallmark American Eagle Clock

The clock has a glass face and the eagle is made of brass or bronze metal and the eagle looks like it was always there. Also I took it down and it says Germany on the back.

Re: Hallmark American Eagle Clock

I don't know much about the clock, but my father left an identical one to me. He bought it in the 1970s at auction.

Re: Hallmark American Eagle Clock

It was most likely made for the Bicentennial in 1976, along with thousands of other items based on original pieces from the late 18th Century. I'd retail one for about $200.00 and take offers.
