Description
Plein air oil painting. May be Rocky Mountains. Looks like West. Dark Canyon on left, mountains in distance, large dark tree on right in foreground, river in foreground, more trees in distance. Blue sky with clouds. I looked up artist on internet and she was primarily a sculptor but did paint, including similar landscapes. The sky has lots of cracks, but no loss of paint. I found a short video about her with shots of some of her paintings which were similar to mine but appeared to be of better quality. Hard to tell. At this time, I am not able to put in pictures; may be able to add in future. I just want to know if this could possibly be one of her paintings and what it might be worth.

Re: plein air oil painting by Althea McLaren
Althea McLaren & I were students together at the Banff school of Fine Arts in Banff, Alberta in 1963. She painted many landscapes using oils that summer. I have not seen your actual painting, but it sounds like the one she painted at Johnston's Canyon, AB. How can I get to see this painting? Althea passed away in 1995.
