I was trying to find hardware for the 3 drawer bails that are missing, but I realized that some of the White Furniture Company peices were selling for more money than other vintage peices.
I looked online for other similar peices and was only able to find this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WHITE-FURNITURE-CO-Hickory-White-38-Italian-Provincial-Chest-of-Drawers-Sable-/391214620498 That peice is in much better condition, so I wouldn't want to buy that for the hardware (even if the price allowed that).
At this point, I'm ready to buy some new hardware and paint/fix up these two peices. Is there a reason not to do that? Are these peices worth something to someone as is? The peices are not in great condition, but the furniture is obviously extremely well-made. I would be willing to sell it for the right price.
(I am still unable to find the missing hardware. I did notice the hardware is stamped with "1960" and a "2.") If anyone knows where I can find something like that, please let me know. They are about 8.5 inches long, but the center holes are 5 inches apart.
