Antique silver salt & pepper shakers, there's no makers mark that I can find anywhere but the time and beautiful craftsmanship put into these definitely tells you that they're very old.
the plate is cast iron and has the lotus temple engraved in the center of it, along with some decoration around the edge. I think the lotus temple and the decoration around the edge is engraved with gold. there is a sticker on the back of the plate that I believe is an auction sticker. my guess is the previous owner had found this item in an auction.
the display case opens from center front with two silver clamps. the outside of the case is maroon velvet, and the inside is white silk.
walnut desk, victorian design. opens up to reveal compartments. has letter size compartment in middle with two small drawers on each side. has two small compartments on each side. has pull out work surface. has large drawer under work surface three letter paper sizes wide. deep drawer. strong two leg sistem, one on each side with a wooden foot bar in the middle.foot bar has been gluded together. it will support a foot and leg. top folds down to hide contents. purchased in sharon ontario. wilhelm furniture co. stugis, michigan.
it's a small ink drawing of what it looks like a Russian village. I am not too sure what the artist name is. It is still in it's original frame as I can tell.
it's only about 5" x 7" all together
I bought it in a garage sale long time ago and kept it tucked away.
if you have any idea of it's value and maybe if you can recognize the artist name.
