The book itself is nothing special it is a 1952 third edition "Synopsis Of Pathology" book. By W.A.D. Anderson. The book is in good condition, there is some wear on the cover and some of the pages have underlining, and other notes. However, these notes on the back inside cover are what stand out to me.
It belonged to Robert Landuee (?) Faculty Of Medicine Geneva. More importantly the last page has dated notes regarding Sir Russell Brock who on Thursday August 26, 1954 at 11:40 am performed the First InterVentricular Septal Defect Operation in the Guys Hospital Opi-theater III. There are also names of others who were present. The operation wasn't successful as the book notes the patient died the next day on friday at 3am.
I know Sir Richard Brock was a pioneer in these types of surgerys and that they are quite common today.
I have a Mestas brass bed age unknown, in very good condition. It has brass tubing, no steel or iron, head and foot and head rails. it is at least 40 years old.. :would like to find out what model as well as value. Has iron bed frames.
Shows some minor dents here and there and missing a couple of the smaller pieces on the footrailing.
