Hi there, we bought a 1930’s house last year which has a bit of loose history to it - Michael Buerk the bbc news reader grew up here. The elderly couple we bought from left these two wall cabinets in our dining room, which also has the original wood panelling in it.
They are 700mm tall, 450mm wide and 260mm deep at their apex (they are corner cabinets).
We have no idea if they are worth anything but they seem exceptionally well made (I don’t think the photos quite do them justice) and several people have suggested to us we should get them valued - and so here we are!
Your website only lets me upload one but I have more.
This is what I *think* is a crocodile purse. My friend bought it in Spain in the late 80s. There is a tag that says " TP (trademark symbol) vero coccorillo"
2 things confuses me:
-The top of the purse looks like snakeskin, but there's no mention of snakeskin on the tag.
-On both skins (snake and croc) the scales are not smooth, they look like little flaps. If you run your hand along them backwards, it's very prickly. All the vintage croc purses I see online look very smooth and not scaly.
I'm wondering if someone with exotic skin knowledge can confirm the type, and tell me what it's worth.
Very unique, rare (according to Piaget may be the only one of its kind in existence.) Elegant, Yellow Gold, mechanical 1963 Piaget timepiece (#94203 on the case and Article # PG GG P9 8021). One of, if not the, original ultra-thin models. 100% Complete Service performed by Piaget in 2016, has not been worn since. Gold face with roman numerals, new crystal, a gold smooth link bracelet (Bijouterie, and according to Piaget, possibly a pre-courser to the Dancer type bracelet) cabachon crown and 9P movement. Also, according to Piaget, there were possibly less than 10 of these made. This watch is for the sophisticated buyer.
I have a large antique basket from my late great aunts estate. 19th century? Splint basket?
The dimensions are 21L x 18h (not including the handles) and 9.25” deep
This has been in the family for quite some time now. Embroidery on silk. I have never seen such fine work as this until I started searching and saw others but not this one. Some that were in great detail as this one was $1,000.00-$3,000.00. Any help what the value would be and information about it would be appreciated. Thanks Ken 1400
