Found this chair in an estate sale. liked the shape, seems to be in good condition. tried looking online for information, found some about the maker, but nothing specifically on this chair. Would like to know the time frame inwhich it was made and a possible value. We paid $30 for it. I have a wood working background, i can tell its made of oak, some if not all quartersawn. Looks to be mortise and tennion construction, It has a label with a number under the seat (will include a pic). label states "Life Time furniture, grand rapids bookcase and chair company no. 73642
The monkey was given to my mum when she was a child over 50 years ago. She gave it to her mum and it was left with her until she recently passed away. The monkey is hollow inside and seems to have a red marking which looks like an 8 on the inside.
I've been told it could be 1900 circa, and be French Bisque possibly?
I have received this painting from a lady friend of mine that had passed on, she use to work at the federal reserve and later on for president Kennedy, she did a lot of traveling and loved to pick up paintings from around the world. This painting seems to be on some type of canves and is in it's original frame, the painting itself looks to be in fantastic shape. I can't seem to find out who had painted it, for the name down in the right hand corner is alian to me because I only know english, what I would like to know is who did the painting? Is he still alive? And could you give me any kind of a ballpark figure on the value of this painting? I really can't think of anything else to say about it except for it is a beautiful work of art.
