Autographed Baseball

Category
Sports Memorabilia
Description

I've had this autographed baseball since the early 80's, but I believe it dates back to the mid forties. From what I can find in Wikipedia, Frank Hayes and Red Barrett never played for the same team, but perhaps both played in Boston in the mid forties. Possibly strange that both of these players would be on the same baseball?  Some of the autographs are barely legible and faded or smudged, but here is a list of what I think I can make out. I'm not at all familiar with baseball, much less historic players, so some of these are pure guesses..  I've attached images which display some of the names, but there appear to be 15 in total.  I'd love to find out where it came from and its value.  Any assistance or guidance would be much appreciated! 1. W. Greaves, Henry Clay straight razor

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Description

Hi Folks,

I don't know much about this razor, other than that it was made by W. Greaves & Son Sheaf Works, and based on the short lifespan of the company, and the etched date in the blade, I'm guessing it was made around 1844.  Also guessing that it was made to commemorate the election of 1844, of which Henry Clay was a part. The blade is etched "Henry Clay 1844".

If anyone has any more information about this piece, or and idea of its value, I'd very much appreciate it!

Thanks!,

Early 1900's Scottish Sgian Dubh

Category
Militaria
Description

Hi folks!

I was given this knife by a family friend around the age of 7. I put it away for safe keeping, and never learned much about it. What I do know from the markings on the back is that is was sold by W.M Anderson & Sons LTD.,  "military outfitters" Edinburgh & Glasgow. Apparently, it was common for blade manufacturers to sell their knives/swords to military outfitters, who would in turn mark them & sell directly to the officers.  W.M Anderson & Sons was operated under that name between 1910-1956, so I'm guessing that's the period for this piece.

If you have any idea of its worth or who actually manufactured this piece, I'd great appreciate the information!

 Cheers!,

Secretary Federal?

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

This is a two piece secretary in maple (?). I have searched through out the internet and am unable to find a photo or listing of a secretary that is anything like this one. It was purchased in the 60's at an estate sale in Sewickely Heights, Pa.

The top portion (photo attached) is is shown without the pieces that create the "panes" but I have all of the pieces. The desk part is different in that it is not a slanted front like a traditional secretary would be; it  looks like a drawer but pulls out into a small writing surface with shelves on each side and a little door/compartment in the center.

I have the key to the glass book/plate case (the top part of  two pieces). One drawer  is missing one handle. More pictures are available.

There are no markings but it is a  quality and heavy piece of furniture. I have no idea of what it may be worth, but I would like to sell it for what it is worth.
