vintage Navajo 3-D completely handmade silver pendant with teepee patterns and hand filed segments. Located in the center of the piece is a rare Pilot Mountain turquoise stone.
This Vase stands just over ten inches tall, the base is 3.5" in diameter on the bottom and 4.5" diameter at the top. It seems to be Copper that is covered in a silver metal (wether it is nickel or silver I do not know). There are hand etching / engraving over the entire Vase. Also, the vase is heavy, weighing close to 4 lbs.
I have a hardcover "Bacon's Essays" published by Hurst & Company, New York
On the dedication page it reads "To Mrs. Henry W. Longfellow in Memory of the Happy Hours at our Castles in Spain"
The contents page reads "Essays- The Last Edition, 1625
The introduction is written by Henry Morley and is dated November 1883
The book is green cloth bound with some kind of a stamp on the front cover as well as the spine and it says something within the stamp that I cannot make out.
On the spine "Bacon's Essays" are written in gold
I am unable to find anything like it so far and am just wondering if you have any information or can determine the value
After much research I have come to believe the green is most likely Jade or possibly agate and the orange is Carnelian. The main piece is a little bit larger than an average marble. The 2 Carnelians on each side are about the size of the brown filter part of a cigarette and have a white-ish marbled effect randomly swirled throughout the beads. The following beads are round & appx.10mm each. The cord that runs through appears to be several strands twisted together (I assume for stregnth) and hand dyed as the color is not consistant. The cord is knotted inbetween each bead. There is no clasp on either end of the bead strings. The carnelian's are both carved or etched. The main bead is carved or etched as well, with symbols I have not been able to identify. I'm sure it says or means something, but I have no idea what... They do not appear to be machine made. They look oriental but I have also viewed some that were German & also some from Austria- so I'm totally confused.
I am looking for prices on newspaper articles from August and September of 1963. They contain the article of the 200,000 man march in D.C. And also I have the Sports pages especially of the Baltimore Orioles and also I have articles for the military. These articles are coming from the Baltimore Sun. I also have advertisements from that era also. They are in good condition. I am looking to see if they have any value.
