Daughters of The American Revolution Certificate

Category
Books and Manuscripts
Condition
Good
Description

I Have a DAR certificate dated "9th day of January 1934" Issued to Bessie Marshall, Who it states is a descendant of "John Cooper" At F"Fort Valley" who served as "Soldier" during the revolutionary war.

The document has a few brown spots on it but hasnt been folded, it has been kept rolled up in a parcel tube for the past 18 years. It appears to be very old ande looks genuine. It has a big blue sticker/stamp on it.

Also. I have a Diploma from "The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary" Of Lousville Kentucky  it is made out to E. J. Marshall and dated May 31st 1894

Also I have one that says "Convention Normal Course"  "Sunday School Board" "Southern Baptist Convention"  It Says "This is to certify that Bessie Marshall ,having completed the prescribed Normal Course is awarded this Diploma and is hereby declared to be a King's Teacher.Dated Nov, 1 1921

Any info on the value of these would be greatly appreciated Thanks - Gabe

Black and White doll.

Category
Antique Toys
Condition
Fair
Description

This doll was found in my Grandmothers' estate. It is Very old, and Very unusual. Someone made this doll back when the blacks and whites were not equal, blacks were slaves, so I'm guessing this type of doll was made special. I have never seen one like it ever. I can remember my grandmother displaying it at her home saying that this doll was so special that noone dare to have one. She had it, so I wondered why she would say that.

My Grandmother also pointed out the fact that it was one of just a few that were made, but wasn't sure who made it. There are no markings on it from what I can see.

If anyone can give me a value on this special doll, and a round about date in which it was produced, please do so. I would be willing to sell at right price.

Please advise...

Very old Pinnoccio Doll

Category
Antique Toys
Condition
Fair
Description

This is a Very Old doll. As far as I know, the clothes are original. It is a Pinnaccio Doll which belonged to my Great Grandmother. I am 53 yrs. old if that says anything about the age of the doll. The doll was passed down to my grandmother, then to my mother, then to me. Looks to be on the left side of doll where leg goes in, that it works with the arm. Can't really tell. If you move the leg, the arm also tries to move. Doesn't really move that well.

This doll has some cracks in it from aging I suppose. Can anyone give me any information on the date of the doll, and possibly what it may be valued at? I may be willing to sell if the price is right.

I had an antique dealer locally look at it, but don't trust what he had to say. Wanted to offer me 3000.00 for it, so I knew I had to post it here.

Please advise, Tammy
