CARVED JADE & CARNELIAN NECKLACE

Category
Jewelry and Gemstones
Condition
Excellent
Description

After much research I have come to believe the green is most likely Jade or possibly agate and the orange is Carnelian. The  main piece is a little bit larger than an average marble. The 2 Carnelians on each side are about the size of the brown filter part of a cigarette and have a white-ish marbled effect randomly swirled throughout the beads. The following beads are round & appx.10mm each. The cord that runs through appears to be several strands twisted together (I assume for stregnth) and hand dyed as the color is not consistant. The cord is knotted inbetween each bead. There is no clasp on either end of the bead strings. The carnelian's are both carved or etched. The main bead is carved or etched as well, with symbols I have not been able to identify. I'm sure it says or means something, but I have no idea what... They do not appear to be machine made. They look oriental but I have also viewed some that were German & also some from Austria- so I'm totally confused.

And also I have the Sports pages especially of the Baltimore Orioles and also I have articles for the military. These articles are coming from the Baltimore Sun. I also have advertisements from that era also. They are in good condition. I am looking to see if they have any value.

J&G Meakin - complete dinner set - "SOL" - "Indian Tree"

Category
China
Condition
Good
Description

I inherited this china from my mother who'd inherited it from her grandmother.

The company is J&G Meakin, with SOL, a little half-crest sunshine symbol, and "Indian Tree" is the name of the print on the china.

I have no use for it and am trying to find out it's value, and how I would go about selling it.

There is one item missing from the set, which is a sugar dish that my great-grandmother spent many years trying to acquire. I suppose now with the internet it would be quite easy to do so- but not really my thing.

One of the small side plates appears to have a hairline crack along it...it looks like it was repaired many years ago.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
