Description

i found this  in a southern oklahoma valley near Talihina ok. it is lead  with initials or makers mark. i think they are CG or CD. i have found quite a few arrowheads and things of that nature. i am guessing it fell off of a wagon or something. this is all i know it was under about a foot or two of dirt so its been there a while and there have never been any buildings or public roads near.

Perhaps a childs toy, or adult novelty? 3" red flocked Monkey makeup kit.

Category
Other
Condition
Poor
Description

We are wondering if anyone can tell us anything about this little monkey makeup kit.  It stands approximately 3 inches high.

The monkeys limbs are moveable independantly of each other.   The head comes off to reveal what looks like it would have held either an eyebrow pencil or lipstick in the short nub that the monkeys head attaches to.

When the head is off the monkeys body opens up to reveal what looks like pressed powder and a very small powder puff on the left side of the monkeys body and a small mirror on the right.

We are interested in knowing anything about this little guy, but are particularly interested to know how old it might be, where it might have originated or have been made by and if it was intended for a child or if it was a novelty item for an adult.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Pottery container

Category
Pottery
Description

This was in the attic of my great aunts old house.  It has a hole in the top and side that I assume we're for spiglts.  The inside is glazed.  The outside is unglazed and there are what appear to be fingerprints on the bottom.  It is marked USA.  I would like to know the use, age, and value of this piece.  It is one solid piece, about 9 or 10 inches tall.
