Oak Cabinet

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I am not sure what kind of cabinet this would be called. It has relief carvings on the face as you can see and the drawer pulls are hand forged iron and the key hole covers and hinges appeared to be stamped not cast .

A few of the decorative nails that hold the hinges on are missing, but being a blacksmith myself I can forge some copies and antiqe the finish to match the originals. I also plan on forging some replacement skeleton keys for it as the original keys are lost.

If anyone can tell me anything else they might know about it or an estimated value that would be great.

Here is a link to detailed photos: picasaweb.google.com/johnscheer/AntiqueCabinet

ANTIQUE TOLEWARE / TOLE WARE / FOLKART / FOLK ART COFFEE POT

Category
Folk Art
Condition
Good
Description

This has a backround finish on it that doesn't look like a traditional paint. It has a texture like feel to the brown backround. There's a unique spiral looking top on the lid that permeates the bottom of the tin lid in a x pattern. There's a series of 15 pouring / straining holes shaped in a triangle/ bowling pin design starting with 5 holes on top and sequencing down to 4,3,2 and finally 1.The inside of the lid is red and so is the inside of the pouring spout. The lid and were it's painted at is tin but the bottom 1 1/2" is copper. This is just my observation but it looks like the copper bottom on this could have been added on at a later date but I'm not sure. The lid can be easily removed or put back on.As far as condition it's a the high side of good just under excellent.I've done a amatuer job of researching this and would appreciate a professional appraisal on the value of this.Thank You.
