We found these chairs at a rummage for $20. They are sold wood and I think the original stain, etc. They are solid wood but I am not familiar enough to tell you what kind. (not Pine though) They had straps as the support but I did remove them because they were all broken and deteriorated. I would like to save them and add new seat areas but I don't want to touch them until I find out what they are, how old, and if they are worth anything. All I have done thus far is cleaned them with gentle wood cleaner. any help would be appreciate because the only similar chairs I find are Victorian but these are not as ornate so I am at a loss.
We thought it was great depression green glass, but an antique lady told us it was much older, 1800's. But that was all the info she had. The shade and the base interlock together by a set of grooves in the base.
