IT WAS PAINTED FO WOOD,,WORKS VERY GOOD I HAVE EVERY THINK THAT CAME WITH IT GLASS,BOOKLET,,,I WAS THINKING ABOUT RESTOREING IT<<????THE IN SIDE IS SUPER CLEAN,,LIKE NEW
These paintings (2) are both of birds that are red in color in among white flowers (magnolias? - not sure.) The first painting has birds that are cardinals in it. The second painting has two red birds also - but are not cardinals. The paintings are both the same size and both have C. Lockhardt signature on the bottom. In addition, it says it is a litho on the bottom right, and the left side says Morris and Bendien, Inc. N.Y. In addition the no. 38506 and 38505 (cardinals picture.)
Both are in a plain beige frame that they came in (I haven't changed,) with one of the painting having been removed at some point ((matting can be removed,) and the other painting has not been removed from the frame.
I am looking to know if this is a recognized artist and an approximate value. In person, the painting is not as "pink" as in the image. However, the sky is indeed mauve. Thank you for your help and I appreciate your input/comments. Thanks!
This belonged to my great-aunt and was probably bought in the 1940's or 1950's. The set is very clean and in very good condition. I would like to know more about it and possibly put it up for sale.
