table is i believe mahogany with amarble top-lamp is electric and has daisy and dot pattern i believe-both pieces are in excellant condition-can not find any special markings on either, or names
this hair comb was my great or great great grandmother's. its still in the original box which is a black metal with silk lining. the name on the inside is amberly. i believe it was once silver, but its beginning to tarnish, and one of the 2 pearls (may or may not be real) is missing.
I bought this piece from an auction with out knowing anything about the piece, I didn't even know it was an "Estey" piece. Took some bidding back and forth but I finally won it for $100. I think I got a deal, and I am hoping to find out it's worth and if restoring it ( sanding and varnishing and replacing knobs) will take away or add value? I believe it's called a Wash Stand. I would sell it for the right price, but I absolutely adore it and will hang on to it until I get an offer I just can't refuse. Any information will be healp full.
The first picture you can see below has the dresser I am refering to on the right hand side of the photo. The second picture is a photo I found on the estey site of what this piece looked like in better condition. I do not have the mirror to it as seen in the second photo.
I dont know maker of this thing or anything. its supposed be from 1940's or earlier. Some parts are a little rough. which seems like would be expected from something so old.
