recently purchased this desk. It has 5 total drawers and 2 pull out writing boards. I would like to resurface the top but I wanted to know what I was working with. It has a tag in the pencil drawer. I sent a pic of it with this message.

This is a pair of candle wall sconces they seem to be painted off white and gold on back that faces the wall. They are very heavy. They have a makers mark on the side of sconce. One of the sconces looks like they glued it back together there is a spit in bottom portion.
