We bought this off of Ebay probably about 15 years ago and was told that this was what was called a Master Snuff Box that was used in the General Store to store the snuff for the customers to buy according to the Antiques Roadshow . We were also told that this had been on Antiques Roadshow and that they had said that this was from the original 13 colonies. It is a barrel made from wood and has a label that is unreadable on the side of the barrel also on the top removable round plug there appears to be some remnants of a label it looks extremely old. The top measures approx 5 1/4" across and is 8 1/4" inches tall. It has 4 metal bands each has one small nail holding the bands in place. I am attaching pictures to this. Any questions please ask and I will try to answer I am considering selling this. Any info on this would be extremely appreciated. There was paperwork from Antiques Roadshow but over the years it has become lost. Age creeping up on us.
I think the stamp on this saddle says J G Read & Bros. Ogden Utah. The back of the seat is stamped 45-29. I believe it has a wooden tree & is a very heavy saddle. The leather is in pretty good shape considering the age. It has dropped rigging & the bottom looks like someone may have had it re-fleeced at some point. I am trying to find the value of this saddle. If anyone can help me please call 740-607-9586.
This cookstove has been used for many years at our hunting camp. Unknown origin/date. The unit still works. This unit also has the water jacket feature.
