Interesting little old Chair!

Category
Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

Hello

Hopefully you can give me some idea on the age of this chair which I purchased in an auction recently. To me the chair has a medieval look about it. It is in reasonable condition overall (especially the carving) however it is extremely worn in areas and it has a slight lean. The seat of the chair is very low to the ground ...approx. 30 cm from the ground. I also can't see any screws or nails anywhere on the frame. The wood looks to me like it is some kind of oak.

I have attached 3 photos .

Thanks

Snitchel

wooden canteen with leather straps, covered with fur and decorated with leather

Category
Other
Condition
Good
Description

wooden canteen with wood lid, lid has a crack across it but it still closes. The fur is intact as well as the leather and is in excellent shape otherwise.

fur feels like deer fur and seems to be glued flat on the wood. Straps are heavy leather and had side flaps. All decorations are layered with dark brown and burgundy leather.

Under side flaps there are stickers. Under one flap there is a handwritten E-43 and on the other one (see picture), there is writing that when I tried using translators it seems to be written in possibly Croatian, Bosnian,Serbian or Slovenian.

1930's Knickerbocker Dopey Doll

Category
Disney
Condition
Excellent
Description

When I was sixteen I found this doll in a brown paper bag between the floor joists in my great-aunt's attic. My aunt said she bought it for her daughter but the daughter hated it and shoved it in the bag and hid it in the attic.  She gave it to me and it's been in my mother's curio cabinet ever since 1992.  It has absolutely no damage to the body or clothing, other than being a bit dirty from being under floor boards for 60 years.

I am very interested in what the doll could be worth.  I currently have no plans on selling it, but I've been told that it may be a good idea to have it insured.  Any and all information will be appreciated.
