I bought this plate an an estate sale. I believe it is from Germany or Holland because on the back it says handarbeit meaning handmade. It is a beautiful plate with a flat background and glazed horses. On the back molded into the top of the plate is number 717 with the number 2 below it. I would like to know about the artist and its value.
A friend bought me this carving and said it was from a Morrocan market and was from the 1-3 century AD. on one sleeve of the garment there appears to be some faded gilding? It looks like it is covered in Gesso? Is this really old or just a "knock off" of an original? I would like to know anything about this piece and its value. Thank you!
