Cute little sugar dish... appears to be majolica but glaze is very runny and not done in a very detailed manner. Relief under every image no chips or cracks minimal crazing..... I can't tell if this is really new or really old... I am very out of my league here.....
This is a beautiful box with amazingly vivid colors and three painted "putti" on top. The images are in raised relief style an detail painted in with an eyelash thick brush....... There are also thistles, feathers, horseshoe patterns and basic flowers.... I have seen others on ebay but they lack the detail this has, and they typically say "italy" this has no marking that I can tell... I have extra photos if neede...
The picture was given to me as a gift I am not sure where it came from I googled it the name does come up in the computer with writing I don't understand. It is an outline of a lady that looks sad there are a lot of colors in the picture. The picture is on canvas and signed Modigliami 1916 I'm thinking possibily Modigiliani, but I'am not sure it does look like something he might have done.
