This is a round, pie crust edged silver tray. The marks on it are: "GORHAM", then 3 symbols, the first of which could be an animal, the middle one is an anchor and the 3rd is a G; next is "sterling"; then "42613"; and then "14 IN" ; and then an encircled "8" . And at the very bottom of the tray underneath, is "Chippendale"..
Small porcelain statue... in my family for many many years. story has it that it came from an estate sale in nyc... items belonging to a famous actress.
I bought this as I loved the frame which I thought was wooden however it appears to have some sort of veneer which is black in colour and almost looks like plastic or bakerlite. Where it is slightly chipped, the frame appears to be almost a grey stone underneath which means I have no idea what this frame is actually made from. It has gold detailing around the edge which is ornate and intricate and I assumed was gold leaf or something. The print itself is on a rough sort of cream paper. It has brown discolouration around the actual print almost as though it was in a different frame originally and moved to a larger one although this could all be 'fake' ageing! Below the black and white print there is script which is printed but in scroll writing as follows;
