Has small purple flowers and a gold trim

I have a pair of these from a friend of my wife's family in Germany. The old lady was in her late 80s in 1974, when I got them and she told me they were her father's. Her father, Heinrich Schneider, had been a senior financial official for Kaiser Wilhelm II. The family lived in Alsbach a.d.B. in Hessen.

Pictures attached, I am curious of the value of the piece..does not have scales and is missing one chandelier piece.

From a British Merchant officer stationed in the Philippines during World War Two. He survived 5 brutal years of Japanese occupied prisoner of war camp and was liberated in 1944.

Could someone who knows about antiques please take a look and tell me what this item is (i.e. type of wood, how old it is, exactly what to call it, value, etc)?
This is actually 2 pieces that stack on each other and go together.
It has dove tail drawers with locks that still work with the original key.
