I got this as a gift. The lady I got it from was an antique dealer and she said it is worth at auction, $900. If it is worth that much my husband wants to add to our property insurance. Thanks so much for your help!
We just bought this today and are curious if we got a good deal. The original owner bought this for $1,500 a long time ago, how long, we don't know. Apparenty she thought it was quite something like we did and paid to ship cross country! It was sold by her children after her death and that's all we know so far. It is seriously heavy! I think it looks like an old Ethan Allen piece I saw in an antique store but I'm not sure.
