The auctioneer said that this painting was hanging in the library of a large estate.
We have 20 foot high walls in our living and dining rooms. We wanted a large painting with vibrant colors to match the rest of our decor which is what attracted us to this painting. We have received many compliments for the painting.
It is a painting of several flowers in a vase on a table.
This painting was not on display when we arrived at the auction. We found it buried beneath other items and had it marked for bid.
We found this item in an estate that we purchased. We bought a whole house full of antiques and this was in it. It is a very nice item. We were told that it dates back to the late 1800s.
We were told that the painting was painted in Italy (he purchased and imported the painting from Italy). However the signature seems like an Asian name. If this is true, then it seemed like a very unusual painting from an Asian artist.
these are a japanese king and queen, made of porcelain. White with pink and tan, with gold accents throughout. The heads are weighted like a pendulum on a clock, so they rock back and forth for long periods of time, because they are perfectly weighted. I am looking for ANY information about them, where they were made, how old they are, etc. I would like to sell them once I find out what they are and what they are worth. If you need more pictures or more angles, let me know. thanks!!!
