detailed man I think it should have Cherrys in is hand. For 46 years my family has called it the cherry boy? On its back Copyrighted 1906 By Boston Plasticart Co. Boston, Mass On side signed a Cart.
They are a set of four, two of them are a little smaller than the first two. cobalt blue with ducks and chickens on the sides it has made in italy on the bottom. On the back it has Toscana 1861. They have ceramic lids with wire flip latches. The lids are slightly chipped. Other than that they are in very good shape.
This item was handed down to a friend when she was little 1948-49. She said that her mother was the one to recover it in the black cloth (from an old dress) and that it was old when they received it. Underneath, the cloth is a fabric and burlap below that. I have not taken it apart far enough to make sure that there is straw below the burlap, but that is what it feels like. One of the back legs feels like it is broke high up. The stand has holes at both ends which I thought might mean that it had once sat on a set of rockers. The underneath of the stand (board), you can see older paint and where the wheels/axels? have been removed.
My questions are: Possible appraisal (worth$) and is this a primative (Handmade replica) or is it original and been recovered (any clues on how I can tell)?
I found this china cabinet display type cabinet in which somebody threw out. If i see something old in the trash, if I like it I grab it. I belive it's from the 50's although I could be wrong..Don't know much about it, Help please....THANKS..Oh I think it's cherry wood.
The book has been through a fire so a little bit of fade on the cover but other than that and some folded pages with one smudge. the print is still perfect and no fading on the inside of the book...it was given the one of my family members a year after it was printed.
