Antique upholstered and ornately carved chair

Category
Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

Upholstered chair with ornate carvings. Carvings appear to be of rosewood; however, the wood could possibly be mahogany or walnut. The pierced inserts in the back of the chair are carved - not punched out. There are inner springs in the base of the seat and also in the removable seat cushion. The back is tuffted. I had the chair reupholsterd when I received it in the late '90s. I have not been able to find out anything about the chair -- period, style, age, value, etc. Nor have I been able to find even any pictures of a chair like it in all of my research.
