Fly Rod has never been used and is in it's original cloth sack and aluminum tube container. Rod still has original sales tag attached describing the rod's particulars. Tag is mint. Rod shows age however due to surface cracks in laquered (?) finish.
Doesn't tick or have a wristband, says authentic fossil on back. markings read sw-6601 and below says JAPAN. found it years ago in a tackle box full of old broken jewelry in a garage sale.
Large Victorian inkwell measures about 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" x about 4" tall & weighs over 1-1/4 pound. It's made of clear glass with emerald green highlights & has a two-piece, hinged lid made of sterling silver. The initials "AES" (I think) are engraved in fancy, scrolling letters on the top of the lid.
The lid is marked with the number "7" on the underside of the top piece, next to the hinge & it bears the following British hallmarks:
Maker's Mark: Mappin Bros
Silver Standard Mark: Lion Passant
City Mark = Uncrowned Leopard's Head
Date Letter = e (1900)
There are no markings on the glass that I can see.
The piece shows some minor wear, but it's in great shape for it's age. It has a couple minor dings & two tiny chips on the raised (or ribbed) portions of the glass & the top of the lid has a dent (or ding) right in the middle that I can't see, but I can feel it when I run my finger across it. None of these flaws are noticeable when just looking at the piece. I've had it displayed in a curio cabinet in my living room for several years & didn't notice them until I actually inspected it for flaws. There are also some scratches on the inside of the domed lid.
I don't have any pictures of it, but it's pretty cool and yes if someone will do something good with it that would be really awsome. I'm not sure even where my dad got the well pump, but at one time i do remember my dad had it hooked up to our spring and when you'd pull the handle up water would really come out of it.
This is a numbered lithograph 99/350. It is of a street in Paris and the condition is all excellent with original frame and paper backing. The print appears to have some yellowing from age but is in great condition otherwise.
I would really like to know who the artist is and if this is a valuable piece of art. I assume it is nothing special but it has always been a mystery to me because I was never able to find out more about how it came into my Grandparents possesion.
