Large mostly blue vase with picture of oriental family/imperial family on one side and grandparents with children on the other. Surrounded by pictures of various flowers. Don't see any markings/signatures, nothing on the base.
These dolls appear to be vintage looking. Unsure of it orgin. I did buy the Black one recently off of an auction site. The White one came from the Goodwill but it was African American. they looks real simular. The face is made of a cloth material that appears to be painted with a thick material. Both dolls have paint missing from their nose. It does not appear to be celluliod (sp?) The entire doll is made of cloth. No plastic at all. I did submit a picture of both the White and Black for comparison. Both appear to be soiled/stained in spots. They both appear to be hand sown. The black one is clearly marked 'POLAND" on he Black leg and the White one is marked in the same spot but unsure if it says "POLAND" or not. It does have the same # of letters.
This doll set was found at my local Goodwill. Picked it up because it looked strange/different. It is a male and female dressed in vintage(looking) clothing bound at the hands with a skeleton key (which has some rust) and a wooden heart. They have some sort of squiggly material for hair. The face appears to be painted on. No rips or tears. The doll apprears to be soiled or stained in some spots but really unsure because it almost look like the cloth material is vintage to either look that way or it really is dirty. The material chosen to make the dolls looks like early print type/material. No tags on the doll. The male does have the signature of Sarah Epp 98 on the back of its head. The doll appears to be hand sown.
This item was sold at a goodwill along with another cloth doll as a combo pack in a plastic bag. One look and I knew something was different about. I paid $7.00 total for the both of them. It appears to be VERY old. Handmade but unsure of the date period. The clothing is very dirty and has some stitching coming out of the green dress. The face appears to be of a plastic (mask). The back of the head is cloth. The legs are attached with some kind of metal clamp along with a plactic disc?? The body is filled with a sawdust material. Due to the metal attachment on the leg and possible age of the doll some of the filling comes out of the loose areas around the metal attachment. I have not been able to find this doll type anywhere. I've tried sereral auction and collector sites with no luck. From the looks of it.. it must be very very old and possibly stored in an attic, garage or unfinished basement(room) based on the dirtyness of it. Unsure if I should wash the cloth's or even sew up the stiching that is coming out. Would that change the value IF worth anything?
